PRAY FOR DELIGHT

Please say an extra prayer for Delight. She has not been able to work for the past 3 days. She has had a fever and a real bad cough & cold. She called early this morning and was planning to come to work but she was not able. She was just to sick.
I'm sure she would appreciate the extra prayers.

GEORGE STRAIT

Delight has been very busy since the last time that I was on the blog. She had a lot of fun this past weekend in Little Rock seeing George Strait. I bet she was at the front dancing the whole time!!!! They went to Little Rock on Saturday morning with Lewis, Darlene, Lindsey, Terry Joe, and Jordan. They meet Stacey at the motel and she went to the concert with them. They spent the night in Little Rock and then Sunday they stopped in Hot Springs to visit Wendell and Charmyrle. They didn't get back to Idabel until about 7:30. They had a wonderful time.

Delight has been feeling good until the past couple of days. She went to see Dr. Salyer yesterday. She had a cough and her throat was hurting her really really bad. He gave her some medicine yesterday and she got some antibiotics this morning. She is hoping to get something that will clear it up quickly so she can get to feeling better.

Terry Joe and Delight went to Texarkana yesterday to get her monthly treament for building up her bones.

NEW DOCTOR

Delight really liked Dr. Barry Mirtsching yesterday. They visited with him about an hour and half. The doctor is probably in his 30's. She will probably switch to this doctor. He did say that he thought that Delight's cancer was slow growing because it took 4 years to show back up. He also told her that nothing was wrong in her waiting to start any treatment. He has a lot of different ideas. She liked the idea of having about 6 different chemos as options. He told her about the different side effects on each one.

First he wants to start with the pathology report from 2002. He wants to do his own report. The report that she had been given was that HER 2 negative was a rare breast cancer. Only one percent of people have this kind of breast cancer. He said that there are some new tests now. Results could take up to 2 or 3 weeks. He does not use the test to check her marker count. The liver did not feel like it was enlarged. He could feel something in her chest. He told her to go ahead and take the bone builder treatments that she had been taking. Delight sent him the MRI & CT scans that she took in December to him this morning.

After he gets his report back on the new pathology report she will go back to see him and they will decide what treatment option they are going to use.

Everything sounds good. Delight looks really pretty today. She feels a little tired from yesterday. I know that she was glad she went to see this new doctor. She was glad to hear he had some different options.

A GOOD NEW YEAR

The Eidson Family had a very good Christmas. Their house was very lively with around 25 people attending Christmas dinner. It sounded like they had lots of good food to eat. Delight felt pretty good during the holidays. New Years eve they took the twinks to see Alvin and the Chipmunks at the movies. That was the first time that the twins had been to a movie. I think mimi and papa had as much fun as the kids.

Terry Joe and Delight went to Athens, Texas this past weekend to see Blu, Jennifer and Kaylee. They were unable to come to Idabel during Christmas so Terry Joe and Delight decided to go see them. This was the first time they had been to Athens. They had such a good time. Delight said that Kaylee is growing up so fast. I think everyone had fun opening their gifts and just being together.

Delight is looking forward to meeting with the doctor in Dallas on Monday. Terry Joe will be going with her. I'll be sure to let you know when I hear from them on Monday. I'm looking forward to some new things this doctor has to offer.

Did you know that Terry Joe & Delight will be getting a new grand baby in May?? Riley and Reesha are going to be having a baby girl!! Her name is going to be
"Ayva Delight" Isn't that a pretty name?? I'm sure she will be just as pretty as her name.

Delight has been starting the new year off strong. She has been coming to work early and staying late almost everyday. She has been looking really good and has felt good except for sinus or a cold that she has caught this week. She is off to a good start this new year!!!!

ANOTHER DOCTOR???

Delight will be going to see Dr. Mirtsching in Dallas on January 7. (he is the doctor that Julie Fisher is using) He received all of Delight's reports and has some ideas of some possibly different treatments that he wants to share with Delight. He wants to talk to Delight and Terry Joe and tell them his thoughts. So be praying that his ideas will be something that will be helpful to Delight.

Her marker count had gone up to 111.4 the last week when she was at the doctor. It had been staying pretty much around 30.

Delight has a full schedule for the holidays. This afternoon they will be going to Walter & Tracy's to visit with Stacy & Christopher. Walter is going to be providing a delicious meal of sandwiches. I'm sure that he will be making his famous German chocolate cake to go along with the sandwiches. Right Walter???

Charmyrle and Wendell will be arriving at TJ & Delight's this afternoon. Delight is looking forward to them coming. I really think the main reason she is glad they are staying with her is because Charmyrle will be doing a lot of cooking and baking sweets. Then on Christmas day they are expecting 25 to 30 people for lunch. Charmyrle you better get busy!!!! I'm sure the house will be filled with lots of good food.

TOUGH NEWS

Terry Joe & Delight visited with the doctor today to discuss the scans that she took last week. The results were not good. There were a couple of new spots on the hip, a increase in the right lung, a small spot on the liver. The doctor said that the small spot on the liver was so small that he could not even test it to see if it was cancer. He asked her about her breathing because of the increase in her right lung. She told him that she wasn't having any trouble breathing. He told her that she will have to go and see a lung specialist if it gets to where she can't breathe. They may have to drain that lung. He was sort of surprised that she was able to work so regularly.

Delight asked the doctor if these spots were so small why was she having to take so much more pain medicine?? What is causing the pain?? He said that it could be a number of things..... it could be the side effects from the radiation.... it could be the bones rebuilding themselves. When she lays in bed at night a certain way it hurts. She showed him where it hurt and he thought for sure that was having to do with the bones rebuilding.

The doctor said that he would like to wait for a couple of months before they start back with chemo. He wants to wait and do the scans again in a couple of months to see if there has been any change. He did tell them that if they wanted to start the chemo up sooner they could if they were scared to wait. They would start it in January if that is what they wanted to do. This will be a different kind of chemo than she had been taking.

Delight is going to get a second opinion. Julie Fisher is going to fax all of Delight's reports to her doctor in Dallas. They want to see if he would be giving her the same kind of treament that she will be receiving in Texarkana. If he has a different idea Delight will go to visit with him.

They are really unsure of what the next step will be at this point. They will be checking with the doctor in Dallas soon. Right now they are just going to enjoy the holidays with their family and friends. Remember them when you pray.

BUSY BUSY BUSY

Delight has been feeling pretty good last week and this week. She hasn't slowed down a bit. She had all of her tests & scans done this past Monday. It was all day long and I think that she got pretty tired. Next Tuesday she goes to see the doctor to get the results. If they want to start chemo again she did say that she wanted to wait until after the first of the year so she can feel good during the holidays.

She will be having Christmas dinner at her house this year with all of her family. She is excited about having everyone over to her house. She assured us that she wasn't going to stress out over all the people that were going to be there. She is happy that she isn't going to have to do any of the cooking!!! Tonya and I went over last week to help her put up her Christmas decorations. She bought us lunch and we had a big time decorating her house. Come to think of it I don't think we ever finished our project. Maybe we better get back to that Christmas will be here before you know it.

Delight's hair is really growning. She's going to have natural highlights!! I think it is time for a new picture. Maybe we can work that in tomorrow.
