ROUGH WEEKEND

Delight had a really rough weekend. She was unable to sleep Friday or Saturday night due to her legs bothering her. Sunday night she found a sleeping pill and took it. Since she stayed in the bed the majority of the weekend she was unable to enjoy her company. She really was disappointed that she didn't feel better. The Neurontin (pain medicine for her legs)that she is taking doesn't seem to be working.

Tonya and I went out at lunch to take her a sandwich. She was watching TV laying in the recliner. She did eat her delicious pimento cheese sandwich!! We ask her if the only thing hurting was her legs and she said yes. She has a call into the doctor to see if he can give her something else for the pain in her legs. I just called and talked with her and she had to call back to the doctor's office because they hadn't returned her call. She told her problem to the chemo girl and she was going to get with the doctor and get back with her. Hopefully, they will be getting back with her soon.

Thursday morning is her CT Scan & MRI. They should be able to tell from the CT Scan if they are giving her the proper treatment and how much longer she will have to be taking treatment. She wasn't for sure about the MRI. She did say last time she had one it showed exactly where the cancer was on her hip. She wasn't sure what they were going to be looking for this time with the MRI.

Say a couple of extra prayers for Delight today please.

ANOTHER CHEMO TREATMENT DOWN

Delight called to tell me how she made it yesterday. The treatment went really well. She said that she feels a little tired today. Last night she didn't sleep. Her hands and feet were bothering her. She said that the tingling that she has felt in her hands and feet has moved into her arms. She has some medicine that she is going to start taking to help relieve some of that pain.

She had just taken her shot when she called and is now on her way back to Idabel. She decided not to come to work today. She is going home to rest. She wants to feel good for her company this weekend.

GEARING UP FOR CHEMO

Delight decided she would take it easy this morning and not come to work. When we talked on the phone she had just warmed Blayd some waffles. She had been watching tv, too. She was going to pick Terry Joe up at about 12:00 and go on to Texarkana. The treatment will last around 1 1/2 hours and she said she would call me when she got done.

She is looking forward to seeing Blu, Jennifer & Kaylee this weekend. The weather has been so beautiful that they hope to be able to play outside with the kids.

I will post this afternoon again if I hear from her before I go home.

WAKE UP CALL

DELIGHT-O-METER is still holding on to a 10.

After I called and woke her up this morning around 7:30 I didn't know for sure how she would be feeling coming to work so early facing a bunch of computer problems. The little storm we had last night had caused our electricity to go off. Anyway, it wasn't long before she had the problems resolved.

Terry Joe will be taking Delight for her chemo treatment tomorrow. Tonya will be taking her early Friday morning for her shot. She told Tonya she needed to be back to work before 10:00 on Friday. Tonya said she could make a fast trip. Tonya you can't go to IHOP. (sorry) Please stay off the road Friday morning if at all possible, Tonya is on a mission.

Delight is feeling and looking good another day!!!!!Keep it up Delight!!!

DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT IT

DELIGHT-O-METER is rocking on this morning at a 10. Delight is looking and feeling good this morning.

Since Delight has been taking radiation & chemo she has been trying to park as close to the side door of the bank as she can. She has been coming in later and at times there's not a parking spot. Even though employees have been told not to park in these certain parking spots some don't always think that they have to abide by the rules. Last week Delight came in the front door and Tonya ask why she came in that door? She said that there were no parking spots. This made Tonya so upset that people weren't being considerate of Delight. She found a catalog that had street signs. She went and showed them to Brian and ask if she could get one and have it put up for Delight. He just laughed and said yes. So...you can see Delight standing by her new sign. I think she likes it. MAYBE she will have a parking spot when she gets here now.

DOCTOR REPORT

DELIGHT-O-METER is 10!! Delight felt really good all weekend. She watched Terry Joe play in the golf tournament both Saturday and Sunday.

Dr. Trane released Delight and she doesn't have to go back to him anymore.

Dr. Engstrom said that her white blood count was normal. Her marker count was down from: August 2006 the marker count was 17. January 2007 the marker count was 54. April 2007 the marker count was 33. The count is down 40%, which is very good.

She will be taking chemo & avastin this week. She will be taking it once every 3 weeks. Treatment time will be about 1 1/2 hours. Delight did ask the doctor if he knew about how many treatments she would have to take? He said at this point he has no idea.

She has a CT scan scheduled for May 3. She is waiting on them to schedule a MRI around the same time also.

A SCARY NIGHT

Delight called early this morning to tell me that they spent most of the night in the emergency room. Blayd got a piece of chicken lodged in his throat. They worked and worked and could not get it to go down or come up. When they got him to the hospital they x-rayed him to find the piece of meat lodged at the entrance to the stomach just at the end of the esophagus. She said that it was extremely difficult for him to breathe because he was constantly gagging. The hospital decided to air lift him out to the Children's Hospital in OKC. The first helicopter that got here was to small for Cydne to ride with him. They decided that they just could not let him go alone. So they called for a bigger helicopter. It was coming out of Greenville. It was on its way when a red light came on and it had to go back. Finally, they got another one out of Tulsa. It was on its way when Cydne noticed Blayd breathing a little easier. She asked if he could be x-rayed again. They said yes if you could get him to drink some more barium. After a while, Cydne finally got it down him. The x-ray showed that the chicken was gone. What a great miracle! The medical staff on the first helicopter had stayed the whole time because they knew how to handle the problem, since the hospital staff was not equipped. About 1:00 or 2:00am they admitted him to the hospital for the night. Delight said she was able to get a little rest but was up bright and early this morning. She will not be coming to work today. Bracee spent the night with her last night.

Terry Joe and Delight will be leaving around noon today. She said that if she got out of the doctors offices earlier enough she would call.

Keep the Eidson's in your prayers. Pray an extra prayer for them today.

Update on Blayd from Uncle Walter: He went out to the hospital at 9:00 and they we getting ready to dismiss him. He said he looked really good and was acting like he felt fine.
