GOOD WEEK

Delight is having a pretty good week. Other than not being able to sleep much at night she has felt pretty good. The only thing bothering her this week are her hands and feet. She has been getting up at night and having to take hot baths to help ease the pain. The doctors office told her to be sure and take her pain medicine as often as prescribed. I think that is helping her some.

She started her chemo pills again this week. After she finishes this round of pills she will have some scans and will go and visit with the doctor.

Right now everything is going good!!!

FEELING MUCH BETTER

GOOD NEWS!!! Delight is feeling a lot better today. She was able to come to work today and she looks beautiful!!! She was able to get a good nights sleep last night. Her head isn't near as sore as it has been the past few days.

ZAP ZAP ZAP

The radiation treatment that Delight took on Monday was very hard on her. She was able to come to work yesterday but today she didn't feel like it at all. This morning when I talked to her she said that her head was so sore that she didn't even want to move it. Also she was extremely tired. You know that she didn't feel good if she didn't come to work. Tonya talked to her this afternoon and she said that she felt a little better but her head was still so sore.

Monday they arrived at Presbyterian Hospital shortly after 5:00am. She said that there was one person ahead of her. The shots that they gave her to deaden the pain hurt her so bad that she cried. They screwed 4 screws in head to hold the helmet in place. They left marks on her forehead where they were screwed into the skull. They found one more place on the back of her head when they did the scan. But they were able to zap that place too when they were zapping. She had to wear this helmet from about 7:15 until 1:00. She said that her neck got extremely tired. Peggy was able to come over and visit with her and Terry Joe. Delight was glad that she was able to come and stay with them.

Delight wanted me to THANK everyone for the food that everyone has been bring to them. It was sure helped them out the past couple of weeks. That is one less thing that they have to worry about. If anyone would like to prepare a meal...please contact Tonya at the bank. She is doing a good job of keeping them from getting to much food at one time. THANKS again from The Eidson's.

Blu, Jennifer and Kaylee came in this past weekend and brought little Joe who has now joined their family. Everyone had a big time getting to meet this precious little guy. What a blessing he is going to be to this family. Blayd was happy to have a boy join the family!! I'm sure that will become big buddies. They are almost the same size and almost the same age...only a couple of weeks separate them in age. We are going to give Jennifer a shower March 8. They hope everyone will come and meet Joe.

FINALLY----WONDERFUL NEWS!!!!

Delight talked to the lung doctor last night. He said that there no signs of cancer in the fluid that he drained off the lung last week. He told Delight that it was just WONDERFUL news!!!! I must agree with him. Delight was so happy to get some good news for a change!!!!

HERE COMES LITTLE JOE

Terry Joe & Delight had a busy weekend. They went & stayed a couple of nights with Jim & Vicky in Jenks. Delight said that they treated her like a "QUEEN". All Delight had to do was rest. Vicky cooked delicious food all weekend. Delight was not only pampered with good food but also with jewels. Vicky made her the most beautiful necklace. Johnice, also has some gorgeous necklaces and earrings that Vicky has made. Thanks, Vicky and Jim, for treating Terry Joe and Delight to such a wonderful weekend. Do you ever take in other guests that need a little pampering and loves jewels????

Blu, Jennifer and Kaylee are having a wonderful time with their new addition to the family. "JOE" Joe will be visiting Idabel for the first time this weekend. We look forward to getting to see Joe again. Congratulations!!!!

I almost forgot to report on how Delight is feeling. She feels pretty good today. She looks good. I told her this morning that her hair has grown out so much that you could not even tell that she didn't have any hair a couple of months ago. She is doing good with the chemo pills. She said that she hip and legs have really been bothering her and she doesn't know if those aches are due to the pills.

ONE RADIATION TREATMENT

Delight just called and said that she was scheduled for radiation Feb. 18 at Presbyterian Hospital. She will have only one treatment.

They were on the way home. She sounded extremely tired. She was ready to get home and get in the bed.

Lisa suggested that we start cooking again for them. She is going to cook tomorrow night. If anyone is interested in cooking a meal for them just call the bank and talk to Tonya and she will be happy to give you a time that is open.

BACK TO DALLAS

Yesterday they removed 2 liters of fluid off of Delight's lungs. With this fluid gone she should be able to breath a lot better. They also did a x-ray of her lungs and all the fluid was gone. They are going back to Dallas today to see the Radiologist. She thought that she might start radiation today. There is a special machine that they are going to use for this radiation. With this machine it shoots the radiation only on those 2 spots not the whole head. They do not have this machine in Texarkana so she will have to do her radiation in Dallas. She had hoped to do it in Texarkana.

She will be starting a chemo pill today. She will take the pill 14 days on and then 7 days off. She takes 4 pills in the morning and will take 4 pills in the afternoon.

I just talked to her and she sounds so much better than she had been sounding. She said that she felt good she was just tired. She said that she got a really good nights sleep last night.

Last night the "Birthday Club" had a party for her. She was able to make it and had a good time!! She got a lot of nice gifts!!

She is going to call me when she gets done at the doctor. I will try and post later this afternoon with how he wants to treat her.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DELIGHT!!!

Tomorrow is Delight's 48th Birthday!!!! We had a birthday lunch for her today at AJ's. Johnice provided the dessert!!! It was delicious. Thanks Johnice!!!

Delight, Tonya and I went to Dallas yesterday. Delight had to go see the dentist to finish up on the root canal that he started last week. That took a couple of hours and then we were off to Dr. Mirtsching's office for blood work. We had arranged for Peggy Guthrie Wood to meet us at Dr. Mirtsching's office to surprise Delight. Delight was happy to see Peggy and so were we. She is such a pretty lady inside and out. She brought Delight a dozen beautiful pink tulips!!!! Thanks Peggy for meeting us!!! We enjoyed the visit.

Delight went back to give her blood at Dr. Mirtsching's office and came out a few minutes later with some more bad news. They had done a scan on her head and it showed a couple of lesions on the back of her head. The lesions are on the lower back part of the head. (they are not in the brain) One place is about the size of a dime and the other is smaller. Monday she goes back to the doctor to find out how they are going to treat these places. They have to be treated before they can do anything else. They may do surgery or radiation on these spots. This is the first time she has had a scan on her head....so she doesn't know if these lesions are new or if they have been there for a while??

Another scan on the right lung showed a patial collapse in the right middle and right lower lobe. There are nine lesions within the liver. It showed a couple of spots on a couple of ribs. She also has gallstones. The spleen, panreas, adrenal glands and kidneys appear normal--These look good!! Praise the Lord!!

The good news is that Blu, Jennifer and Kaylee are getting a 4 year old little boy named Joe. He is a cutie. We got to meet him yesterday in Dallas. He was shy (of course with all of us staring at him) He was enjoying his frosty from Wendy's. I'm hoping that Delight will post some pictures of him. Everyone is so happy to be getting Joe. Congratulations!!!!!

We just made a couple more stops for the bank. Tonya has big plans to make us some beautiful arrangements!! Of course we did stop to eat at one of our favorite place PF Changs. The food was wonderful. Of course when you are in the bank car EVERONE notices you. At the red light when we were turning to PF Changs a guy was waving at us and told us he was from Idabel. Ten minutes later while we were eating a guy came up to us and asked if we were driving the money car and we said yes he said he was dating Rex Chandler's daughter. We decided it was not a good idea to drive the money car if we were trying to hide. I think we all were glad to get home at about 9:00 last night. It was a long day for everyone.

Remember Delight in your prayers. I believe in miracles. Let's all stand together for Delight. She's a fighter. She can be VICTORIOUS in this battle.
