NO GERMS!!!!!!

Delight was unable to take her chemo treatment yesterday because her white blood count was down to 800. The lowest it can be and still take a treatment is 1500. The doctor didn't want her to come to work or go anywhere to catch any kind of sickness. They suggested to her to take some work home and do it or work late at night when know one is at the bank. They also suggested if she went to work on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday go to her office and close the door. If people needed to talk to her, let them use the phone. They wanted her to have very little contact with people. We do not want her getting sick so please do not go around her if you are sick.

They are going to change how they have been giving her chemo. I think they will start giving her the chemo once every 3 weeks. They will give her the Neulastia shot the day after her chemo to help build up her white blood count.

She also told me that her hair was starting to fall out. She said not all but a little of it.

Let's remember to keep Delight and her family in our prayers. Pray that her blood count gets up and she can take her chemo.

CHEMO DAY

Delight did not come to work today. She planned to stay home and sleep in since it was her chemo day. When I talked to her a little while ago she said she had a good night sleep and was able to sleep to 7:30 this morning. She said she felt really good.

The twins kept her company yesterday afternoon and last night. They are quite the entertainers. They think their MEME is pretty special. I know she thinks that they are pretty special!!

Delight was getting ready to leave. Sheila was able to leave at 11:00. They were going to have time to get something to eat before she went for her treatment. If she calls later I will try and post again.

SHE FEELS GREAT!!!

Sorry this is so late today. I've had a senior moment. I just plain forgot to post.

I told Delight yesterday that she is doing so good that I forget that she is even sick.

She is feeling really good again today. She looks wonderful, too.

Sheila is taking Delight for her chemo treatment tomorrow. Along with her chemo she will be taking the avastin so it will take just a little longer for her treatment than last time.

GOOD DAY

This morning when I pulled into the parking lot I was really excited!! Delight was already at work. This is the first time in a very long time she beat me to work. I went directly to her office to check on her. She turned & looked at me with a big smile on her face!!! It is a GOOD DAY I said to her. Yes, she said it is. I'm nice and crisp!!! CRISP?? She has on a shirt that is nicely ironed.

She looks & feels wonderful again today!!! Sorry Jennifer about the pictures. I got busy yesterday & forgot all about the pictures I had promised. I'll try to do better today.

DELIGHT-O-METER is at a 10 again today!!! Isn't it WONDERFUL. Delight you are doing GREAT!!! She made the comment yesterday the chemo has been easier that the radiation. Just keep up the good work.

REMARKABLE DELIGHT

DELIGHT-O-METER is back up to a 10 today!!!!!!!

Delight is looking so good today. She feels really good, too.

I ask her if she had a restful weekend.......she just looked at me and laughed. She cleaned out closets & made a couple of trips to Wal Mart with the twins!!

She got another haircut Saturday. It looks really cute! I will try and get some new pictures today.

SLEEPING LATE

Delight decided to sleep in this morning. I'm sure she needed the rest.

She did meet Tonya & I for lunch. She looks really good and she said that she felt good. She seemed a little tired to me. She was telling us the last time she had chemo the day after it she ached all over. She said she sure would not have been having lunch with us on the day after the chemo. Her mouth is the only thing giving her a problem. She said that it feels like the inside of her mouth and the outside of her tongue is raw. They told her something to rinse with.

#2 TREATMENT IS DOWN

Delight just called and said that she had just finished her treatment. She said that it took exactly 1 hour. She did not have the Avastin part of her treatment today. She thinks that she only gets that drug every other time.

SHE CLAIMS SHE IS A 10????

Delight sent word to me by Lauren that she was a 10 today. I told Lauren, Delight can't say she is a 10, that is MY decision. Lauren said that she thought she was a 10, too. I asked Lauren did you see her, did you talk to her, did her voice sound strong??? I was putting poor Lauren through the third degree. I immediately called Delight and ask her what are you thinking sending word that you are a 10??? That is not YOUR decision to make. Anyway.... she just started laughing. She said Terry Joe aren't I a 10? He said you are a 10+. I was thinking do you really think he is going to say anything else???? So....just going by the way she was talking I guess I will give the DELIGHT-O-METER a 10 today. Just keep in mind I did not see her in person since she took the day off from work.

Her chemo is at 2:00 today. She was going to go do her blood work at 1:00. When she gets done she said that she would call me.

Continue to pray that she has another good week.

CHEMO OR NOT?????

DELIGHT-O-METER is still at a 10!!!!!!!!!!!!

I really don't think she is taking chemo. She has felt really good all weekend and she looks GREAT today.

Delight had a big weekend.... she went to a wedding on Saturday afternoon, went out to eat at Papa's twice, and visited several times with Vicky & Jim.

She said the last time on the 3rd day after her chemo she got sick. It's really GOOD news that she has not been sick at all.

Keep it up Delight!!!! You're doing GREAT!!!!!

WONDERFUL TURNOUT AT BREAKFAST

DELIGHT-O-METER is at a 10 this morning!!!! Delight looked so pretty at the breakfast.

The breakfast at the Masonic Lodge went really well today. The turnout was wonderful!!! They were working so hard on getting the to go orders out. I think the response was overwhelming. They could not keep up on the biscuits. When we left at 9:10 they were still filling orders.

1st ROUND DOWN

Delight called about 1:30 and said everything went well. She said she had 30 minutes of chemo and 1 1/2 hours of a drug called avastin. (I'm not sure on the spelling of that.) She will be taking chemo once a week for three weeks. On the fourth week she will see the doctor. They also gave her something for nausea. Also a prescription for some nausea medicine if she needs it. She said that she felt good. She sound really good!

She said that she would see me in the morning at the breakfast.

Andi, the breakfast is at the Idabel Masonic Lodge Building. It is located at 207 E Main. It is close to Idabel City Hall (the old Idabel National Bank building downtown)

IDABEL MASONIC LODGE BREAKFAST

The Idabel Masonic Lodge will be hosting a benefit breakfast for Delight Friday morning 7:00-9:00. Delight had told them not to have it for her since the response from the bake sale was so terrific. She wanted them do the breakfast for someone else. But they wanted to do it for her anyway. So we did not know until yesterday that they were still going to doing it for her. Anyway try to go support this effort because they match the funds raised up to $750.00. You can make a donation in any amount. It doesn't just have to be the $5.00 they ask for the breakfast.

If I hear from Delight after she has her chemo this afternoon I will post a message.

I hope she will feel like going to the breakfast in the morning!

CHEMO NEWS

Tonya & I had a short visit with Delight. She seem to be feeling a little better. The nurse called and she will be going for her first chemo treatment tomorrow at 10:00. She told her it would take 2 1/2 hours. (Terry Joe will be taking her tomorrow.) She will be going every week for her chemo. She said she would see us tomorrow afternoon!!

HOME RESTING

Delight just called and said she would not be coming to work today. She has been in quite a bit of pain since her surgery yesterday. She said that she is taking some very strong pain pills. Her surgery lasted an hour.

Delight said her legs and feet have been hurting her all night. (she thought is was her coming off the anesthetic) She has taken several hot baths to try and relieve the pain.

Her voice sounded really good and strong. She is still waiting on a call from the doctor about when she is going to start taking chemo. When she finds out I will let you know.

Jennifer just called and said everything went good. She had not seen her yet because was still in recovery. They should know her chemo schedule this afternoon. Jennifer said that she would call back if they found out anything else.

BEAUTIFUL 10

DELIGHT-O-METER is at a 10 today.

Delight looks SO good this morning. Her back is slightly hurting her. Other than that she feels great!! She was even at work again today bright & early.

Saturday was a much needed restful day for Delight. She was extremely tired and her back hurt really bad. She thinks she just over did it Thursday & Friday. Sunday she was able to go to church and some other activities without hurting at all. It's hard for her not to do to much.

Jennifer will be here today. She is going with Delight tomorrow. Delight is looking forward to her company this week.

She looks and feels really great again today! She was at work bright and early this morning. The only thing is that she said she was a little tired. Could it be from a full day yesterday.....from shopping at Kohl's Grand Opening to the Pop Time concert last night with the twins.

She is a little concerned about working all day today since it has been a while since she has done it. I think she can do it.

Delight is looking forward having Jennifer here next week. She will be out on spring break and is coming to Idabel to visit.

Sorry so short........ I'm trying to get my work done before I have to take Delight to her treatment.

She looks and feels really good again today!! Her back/hip is feeling a lot better today.

I took a picture of her before she looses her hair. Delight will be posting it later. Also, I will be taking another picture of her later because she is going to get a SHORT haircut today. She said the last time when she started chemo her hair started coming out after the second treatment.

About the biopsy for the place found under her arm...........she has not had it done yet. I think they are just trying to get her radiation finished and chemo started before they do the biopsy. The surgeon is going to look at that place Monday when he talks to her about the port.

Delight just got back from getting her hair cut. It looks really cute. I told her I thought it would be shorter. She said it can't get much shorter than this!! Enjoy the pictures.

SHE LOOKS GREAT!!!!

The DELIGHT-O-METER is at 9 1/2 again today!!

Delight looks and feels really good today! The only problem she is having is the hurting she had in her back yesterday has moved down into her hip. She is still getting up and down carefully.

Today she was going to see the surgeon (Dr. Radomski) in Texarkana before she had her treatment. But they just called and changed her appointment to Monday March 12. He wants to visit with her before he puts the port in. They will be putting the port in Tuesday March 13 at St. Michael's hospital.

BACK IN FULL FORCE

DELIGHT-O-METER is back up to a 9 1/2 this morning.

I would have given her a 10 but she has hurt her back. She took down some curtains in her kitchen and was doing a few other things around her house and some how hurt her back. She is getting up and down very carefully. Other than the back hurting she said that she feels good. She looks good, too.

They have finished her radiation on her hip. Thursday will be the last radiation on her upper body. Next week she is supposed to start her Chemo. She will be taking 3 different kinds of Chemo. I asked how often will you take it? She thought since it is 3 different kinds, one of them maybe once a week, one maybe once every three weeks, and one maybe a drip going all the time. She just doesn't know that yet. I ask for how long? She said that they haven't said yet. After her appointment with Dr. Engstrom next week maybe she will know more. I will let you know.

Terry Joe will be taking her today. She usually sees the doctor on Monday.

RESTING AT HOME

9:30am

Delight just called and left me a message saying that she did not know if she would come to work today. She just got up and was eating when she called. Her voice sounded much better than it did yesterday. She said that her throat was hurting really bad. She thought that it was sinus drainage not from the radiation.

If she happens to come in before she goes to her treatment, I will post again. If she does not come in I guess I will not post again until Monday.

Delight came to work for a brief time today.

She was really tired. She said that the trip to Houston was catching up to her. That is a long trip for anyone.

The DELIGHT-O-METER is down just a little today. I am going to give her a 8 1/2 today. Delight get some rest.

Riley and the twins were going with her to her treatment today. Those kids are so cute and funny. I'm sure she will be entertained.
