I was excited to see Delight's smiling face this morning. She looked really good and felt good except for being tired from the trip. She said that they got back to Idabel around 8:00pm.

She has already left to go take a radiation treatment. She felt good enough to drive herself today!!! After today she will have 4 treatments left.

DELIGHT-O-METER is still at a 10. GREAT!!

She did not know when she would be starting chemo. After she has completed her radiation she would go and talk with the doctor. She thought possibly she would be taking chemo once a week.

COMING HOME

I talked with Delight shortly before 3:00 and they were just about to get ready to start home.

After visiting with the doctor today he decided that he would give the same treatment that they would be giving her in Texarkana. So she will just do everything at Texarkana. He wants her to finish the radiation treatment (I think she lacks about a week) and then they will start the chemo. She said that they usually wait about a month between but she thinks they will start quicker than the month with chemo.

They did find another lump under her right arm. They want her to get a biopsy done on this in Texarkana.

Continue praying for Delight and her family.

She told me if she wasn't to tired in the morning she would see me at work.

The girl is a TROOPER!!! If I ever have to go through anything like Delight, I hope that I could be as strong as she is.

THEY HAVE LANDED IN HOUSTON !!!!!!!!!!

Delight just called Tonya to let everyone know that they made it safely to Houston. They will be staying at the Hampton Inn on Old Spanish Trail Road. They had to get different reservations because of the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo caused some sort of mix up. Anyway they can take a shuttle to the part of the hospital she needs to go to. She said that Luby's was next door to them.

Delight wanted everyone to know that Terry Joe made it fine driving to Houston. They had a good visit with Blu & Jennifer Sunday & Sunday night.

She said that as soon as they found out anything tomorrow they would call and let us know.

What a beautiful day it was yesterday and we enjoyed every minute of it. The weather was just perfect and so was our trip. Tonya and I just knew that we were going to make Delight so tired but she was right with us shopping at all our normal stops Lifeway, Target, Payless, Sams and of course Hobby Lobby. And how could I forget our delicious meal at ON THE BORDER. Delicious for me but maybe not so much for Tonya & Delight. They decided they would try the FISH TACO..........that sounded just a little to strange to me but...........I thought go for it if that's what ya'll want go for it........but I was still thinking fish on my Mexican Food???
Delight said oh yes we have had fish tacos at the Stauters and they were delicious. Needless to say...........from the expression on their faces I think it would be safe to say I don't think they would recommend the fish tacos. You may just want to ask them yourself I really don't want to speak for them. But over all the trip was GREAT!!! Thanks, Delight for letting Tonya & I go, we enjoyed it. Glad you did not get to tired.

Terry Joe & Delight are ready to go to MD Anderson. They are expecting wonderful things to happen. Delight said she would call us on Tuesday and let us know the progress and so that I could post on the blog. So as soon as I hear from her I will be posting on Tuesday.

My wish is coming true today!!!!

Delight finally broke down and said that we could take her to her treatment today!!
Tonya gets to go, too. We have to pick up some things for the bank. It takes all three of us to made a decision on what to get! Plus Delight needs a trip in the INB MONEY CAR!!!! SHE loves the attention that she gets in the car!! ha ha

The DELIGHT-O-METER is still at a 10 today!!!! Still no pain medicine and she slept fairly well last night. She looks really good again today!!

Donations are still coming in for Delight everyday !! Thanks everyone!!

I just ask Delight to be sure and bring her camera tomorrow. Maybe we will get a new picture!!!! She is such a pretty model!

10 AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

DELIGHT-O-METER IS AT A 10 AGAIN TODAY!!!!!!! I told you that it is stuck!

Delight looks & feels so good today!!!! Where is the camera??

She had a good day yesterday driving herself to the doctor. She made stops at Target, Cato and then her normal visit to the radiation clinic. When she got home she had some delicious chicken enchiladas!! Thanks Cindy! She feels so good today that she is going to drive herself again today!! Wait a minute I can't leave early today??? There's always tomorrow.

She is getting ready to leave for MD Anderson Sunday. They will be stay with Blu & Jennifer Sunday night and driving on to Houston on Monday. Her appointment is Tuesday morning 9:ooam. I'm believing God has just the doctor waiting to see & help you, Delight. I'm expecting to hear some encouraging news on Tuesday.

Thanks, Vicki Young for helping Delight collect all of her old records from Dallas. I think she has everything she needs to take to MD Anderson.

I almost forgot to tell you that Delight is still not taking any pain medicine. She has even quit taking the liquid medicine for her throat. That's GREAT Delight.

NO METER TODAY

Delight has not come to work yet today. I finally broke down and called to check on her. She was drying her hair getting ready to go have her treatment. I asked her if she was tired and she said yes, extremely. We did not go into any more detail than that. Her voice sounded good. She said that she felt okay.

Delight is going to drive herself today. After several offers she instisted that she wanted to go alone. Delight, I wanted to leave early!!!

She did tell me she was going to come to work a while when she got back into town.

Terry Joe, Delight and the twins were at Walter's house on Sunday (after going to church) playing with the girls. Delight enjoyed watching all the toys flying around everywhere!!

Delight is looking really GOOD again today. She said she feels great!!

She had another restful night. The only pain pills she had yesterday was 2 advil pm pills last night. She had no other pain pills yesterday. The radiation is working!!! This is GREAT news Delight!!

The throat is 10x better than it was. Twice yesterday she took the numbing medicine that she has for her throat. She said it just feels so much better than it did.

THE DELIGHT-O-METER IS STUCK ON 10. GO GIRL GO!!!!!

Terry Joe along with Johnice & Theron are taking Delight for her treatment this afternoon. Hopefully with all of them taking her they will not get lost!!!

A GHOST????

I was almost sure I was seeing the DELIGHT ghost this morning. It was coming up the stairs before 8:00am. But it was really her. I was shocked but excited to see her so early and feeling so good after a LONG day yesterday.

The DELIGHT-O-METER is at a 10 again today. Hopefully it will stay stuck on 10.

She said that she did not even have to get up and get in the chair last night!! She only woke up once and slept until about 6:30 this morning.

Donations keep coming for Delight. The total is now over $6,000.00. I know this will be a tremendous help to them. If you have ever been through anything like this you know that the expenses are great. With them not knowing how long they will have to stay in Houston, this money is a blessing to them.

BAKE SALE IS GOING GREAT!!!!

What a GREAT turnout!!! We hardly have anything left. It has been a WONDERFUL morning!!!

Delight is feeling really good and has been downstairs greeting everyone.
She had a good night sleep last night only waking up at 3:30am and then going back to sleep in Terry Joe's chair.

GOOD NEWS!!! She has not had to take much of her pain medicine.

SHE deserves a 10 on the DELIGHT-O-METER today!!! GO DELIGHT GO!!! She asked me earlier how she looked. I told her she looked very beautiful! Purple is one of her colors.

Another GOOD DAY

It is really GOOD to see Delight back at work today!!!

She is feeling & looking good this morning. I told her that I was going to kick the
DELIGHT-O-METER back up this morning. She is at a 9 1/2 today!!!!!

She was able to talk to the doctor yesterday and he told her not to sleep during the day, so maybe she could sleep better at night. Last night she said that she woke up at 3:30am but thought she went back to sleep at 4:30am. Then she slept until 7:00am.
That was a lot better than what she has been doing lately.

The doctor did tell her that the knot on her chest had gone down. Her throat does not seem to hurt as bad. She had gotten some liquid pain medicine Friday to numb her throat. It has been helping a lot. This is all GREAT news!!

Please tell everyone about the BAKE SALE tomorrow. We are going to have a lot of DELICIOUS things to buy!!! Hopefully Delight will be able to be down stairs for a little while tomorrow. Come in & visit & see how GOOD she looks.

I just got off the phone with Delight. Sunday afternoon she was able to work a while and get a few things done since nobody is here to bother you. She did not feel as good this morning so she did not come to work today.

She did say her throat has really been bothering her and she is extremely tired. It's a struggle for her to even talk.

Terry Joe is taking her to her treatment this afternoon. Her doctor will be in the office today hopefully he will be able to give her something to help her throat.

Don't forget to pray for Delight to get some good rest.

Just wanted to let you know that Delight has not come to work today yet. I know that she was extremely tired yesterday afternoon. I am glad she is getting a little rest this morning.

She is getting her hair cut today at 11:00 and then she is going to her treatment with Lisa this afternoon.

Maybe I can get a phone call to her in a little while.

If I hear anything later from her I will be sure to post it.

This is TJ. I just want to thank everyone for the concern, thoughts, help, food, prayers, and most of all the spiritual uplifting you have been providing for my lovely wife. She is a 10+ morning, noon, and night to me. Kaye and Tammy, you girls are really good at this and it is so obvious how heartfelt your efforts are. Thank you so much! Everyone's comments really inspire Delight and I know that she is strengthened and comforted by them. Your love for Delight is an inspiration to me as well. I know a lot of people have added Delight to their prayer-lists at a number of different churches. Please continue to do so as I know you will. I would thank each one of you individually for all you have done in such a short time but I would run out of "blog-space" and besides that my memory isn't what it used to be. I have to go now and see if I can steal a "hug and a kiss".

DELIGHT-O-METER IS AT A 10

Delight is feeling better because she came in this morning DEMANDING that I put her at a 10 today. After questioning her I must agree she is at a 10 today. She looks better today than I have seen her look lately. Her throat doesn't hurt as bad.

Riley & Blu both of you should be happy today with the 10.

The lady from MD Anderson called yesterday, her first appointment is scheduled for February 27, 2007 at 9:30am.

She is fired up today!!!!!

I'm so glad to see that fire back.

WEDNESDAY MORNING

Hello everyone!! Delight had another good nights sleep last night she only woke up once. She looks really good. The only problem she is having this morning is her throat. She said that it hurts really bad. I noticed her to struggling to swallow when she was eating this morning. Other than that problem she said she is feeling good.

The Other Birthday Party??!!

Birthday Party # 2

What a wonderful time we had Friday afternoon celebrating Delight's ___ Birthday. The meal at Johnny Carinos was delicious and the time spent with friends was even better. (Sheila will have pictures soon). Delight had radiation right after our meal. After she had her radiation we were FORCED to make a stop at Hobby Lobby. Delight needed a tree to complete a corner in her newly decorated house. Donna made one more stop and then it was back to Idabel. I can't really share to much more because we were warned with what was said in the vehicle stays in the vehicle. I thought you just said that if you went to Las Vegas?? What do I know?? I just know that I am keeping my mouth SHUT. But... I just have to say one thing that a couple of names kept coming up---Mandy & Carla. I really don't want to tell what they said but the only thing I remember is how much everyone wished that they could have been with us. Next time girls! Now for anything else that was said............. Thanks for letting me go. Donna, thanks for driving you did a good job know matter what Lisa said. Delight we hope you had as much fun as all of us did!! Donna and Lisa are drawing up the plans for the Drive-Thru Radiation Clinic. Please contact them for any suggestions that you may have.

If you have not had the chance to see Terry Joe & Delight's new house let me tell you what a wonderful place they have. A couple of weeks ago she was surprised to come home to a decorated house. We arranged for Professional Designers Gail Snider & Ginny Snider along with Professional Painters Lisa Shipp & Tonya Stephens to work their magic. Boy, did they ever. What a beautiful job they did!!! Thank you girls for all of your hard work. Getting everything put up was a huge relief to Delight. She was so excited!! Terry Joe was even excited, too. He really liked the wall with all of his golf pictures on it. Everyone was glad to help out with this project.

VALENTINE'S DAY BAKE SALE

We will be having a bake sale at Idabel National Bank for Delight. All the money raised will be going to her to help her with her expenses.

If you would like to bake something just bring it in early to the bank. We will be selling a lot of different things cakes, cupcakes, party mix, chicken spaghetti, chocolate covered strawberries, pies, fudge and who knows what else.

Come out and buy something and be sure to tell your friends about the Bake Sale.

DELIGHT-O-METER

Delight made it to work around 8:30. She looks great this morning!

DELIGHT-O-METER is at a 9 today.

Her voice sounds a lot stronger today. Its seems that she just feels really bad when she does not get the good nights sleep she needs.

Cindy, Delight said the dumplings were delicious!! Terry Joe almost ate the whole pie it was so good!! Thanks to everyone for the food. It help out this weekend so much when they had company.

TUESDAY MORNING

Delight just called so I could post early this morning. She did not want me getting in trouble with .... ----
So she sounded a whole lot better this morning. She had a more restful nights slept last night. She got the pillow she had been wanting and that seemed to help.

When they got to radiation yesterday her doctor was on vacation. She saw some retired doctor that did not know anything about her. He would not give her any different pain medicine.

Her throat is swelled from the radiation. She is having trouble swallowing her pills and eating. The doctor said that one of the reasons her chest is hurting so much is from the swelling from radiation. We thought she was going to get some relief from the radiation??

The DELIGHT-O-METER will be later today after I see her.

Monday Morning

Hope everyone had a good weekend. Delight's was full of visits from her family. She said she enjoyed everyone getting together.

Last night was another bad night. She said that her chest is really is causing her a lots and lots of pain. I think she said she finally got to sleep about 5:30am this morning.

Maybe the DELIGHT-O-METER is at a 3 1/2 this morning.

Terry Joe will be going with her to the doctor/radiation this afternoon. She is going to ask him about giving her some stronger pain pills.

Sorry this is so late. Delight was a little later than normal and --LISA--I do have a job that I would like to keep.

I just saw Delight---she looks better now than she did when she first got here.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DELIGHT

GOOD MORNING

The current reading on the DELIGHT-O-METER is a 5.

She had a rough night with not much sleep.

Her hip has started hurting her along with the hurting still all across her chest.

She is going to try one of those wedge pillows hoping maybe she can sleep better. Does anyone have one that they are not using that she could borrow?

Birthday Lunch

Thursday is the usual Country Club Ladies Luncheon. But since the Country Club was closed, we met at AJ's. AJ's has a wonderful buffet. All you can eat...which explains why Walter showed up to join the ladies. He smirked when he sat down, thinking that he was head of the table, but we all knew he was actually the foot...

We had a real reason to celebrate today. Delight's nth birthday! So, in addition to the fine food and great company, we enjoyed seeing Delight serenaded by the owner. With his accent, it really reminded me of my favorite Christmas movie, A Christmas Story, where the family ends up at the Asian restaurant for Christmas dinner after a pack of dogs destroyed the turkey and were serenaded by the kitchen staff! Hilarious. But, seriously, this guy was pretty good.
We all had a great time and Delight is looking wonderful! I also have a couple of videos and, if you guys want a good laugh, you need to see them. They're posted on my photobucket so that you can check them out. The first one, titled Cheshire Cat, I had to stop filming because I was about to crack a rib watching Judy (on the right in the video) attempt to grin her way out of the video. It's worth a look!

Update on Delight 2-1-07

Friends,

Delight has given me permission to update her blog for her whenever I have new news about her. So this is where she is at right now----The cancer that she has is from the breast cancer she had in 2002. Apparently they did not get it all.

As most of you know she has is several places on her body. The biopsy showed that the cancer is in stage 4. The place on her hip is in the socket. It is a weird shape but thought it was about the size of a quarter. She has not had hardly any pain in her hip. She is getting a double dose of radiation on her hip. Radiation is also being given on the place on her breastbone. (this place is about the size of a golf ball) This is the place that had been causing her so much of her pain. She has gotten some relief already on this place from the radiation. That is good news!!

The last week in February Delight will be going to MD Anderson in Houston. They want her to finish her radiation treatments that she started in Texarkana before going down.

Chemo will not be started in Texarkana due to her going to MD Anderson. They may have a different option for her.

I would like to thank everyone for your messages to Delight. She is reading everyone of them. I also would like to encourage you to leave her more than one message. Please do not just leave only one. Every bit of encouragement that we can give to her helps a lot. Even if you just say a daily hi or that you were thinking about her--would help. Thank you for taking time out of your busy day to leave a message.

Don't forget tomorrow is her birthday Feb. 2.

Delight wanted me to tell everyone THANK YOU for all the food. Terry Joe THANKS you, too. Everything has been delicious!! It has been a great help to them. If you are interested in taking food please contact either Lisa or Tonya. We have a schedule for the food so they will not be overwhelmed with to much food.

If you have a question or concern about Delight---please post it. We will try and get you an answer to it. I am sure you will be hearing from Delight soon. I am just trying to help her out so she will not be having to answer the same questions over and over. She gave me the liberty to say whatever I wanted!!!!! SO................

Lisa calls me every morning to check and see how Delight is feeling. We have come up with the
"DELIGHT-O-METER" ........0-10 scale.........with 10 being tops. This includes how does she look, feel, sleep the night before just a over all picture of her. Today is rates a 9. She looks good and she said that she had a restful night of sleep last night. I will try to put a rating out every morning.

She has a radiation treatment today at 2:50. Johnice and Theron will be taking her today to her appointment. Delight thinks she can take herself to her treatments (we all know she could) but she doesn't realize we all WANT to take off work alittle early so we can take her. Delight just does not realize how many people LOVE her and do not mind taking her. She is a TRUE friend and we all LOVE her so much and will do anything to help her out during this time. If you want to drive her a day please again contact either Tonya or Lisa. Delight we know you can drive yourself but just let us help you out. We are ALL willing. We don't mind leaving our jobs early. Right?

I just wanted everyone to know that I will strive to have all the information correct that I will be reporting to you. I am not good at this at all so just bear with my missspelled words or sentences that are hard to understand. I slept or talked during my English classes in school. Maybe Carla needs to be doing this.

Thank you for your prayers for my WONDERFUL friend Delight. I know God is in control and HE knows Delight and is taking very good care of her. He knows that she is a DELIGHT to all that Love and Know her. Please continue your prayers for her and her family.
